I always find these pages a bit cringey and find them hard to write, so bare with me! I’m currently working as a specialist computing teacher in a primary school in Bradford. Work in a 3 form entry school, so manage to fill my timetable by teaching all classes an hour a week. Love the job, and the school is always a busy place to work.
Love to find new and interesting things to do with the pupils as i find the current computing curriculum provides time and wiggle room to cover all kinds of things, it’s not all about the algorithms! I’m also a keen collector of badges, as anyone who has seen my work lanyard will confirm. I completed my training as a CAS Master Teacher a few years ago, I’m also the CAS Co-Hub leader for Bradford. This year I was lucky enough to take part in the Raspberry Pi Educator certification, so that’s another badge! In my current school we have Microsoft Systems for everything, so in the summer I completed the MIEExpert certification too! Doing this was aimed by my passion for the games making software Kodu, for which I have built my own teaching resources and a website, KoduintheKlassroom, full of guides for teachers and pupils.
Personally I have a huge interest in photography, and take this into school by running an after school club for a small group of pupils. Having done my mini bus tests means we get to have great fun like the picture, dumping the kids in the bus and disappearing into the Yorkshire Dales for the day!
